The 1970s is the decade that I came of age. As 1970 began I was a 11 year old boy looking towards my teens and as the decade ended I turned 21.
My love of music of the 1970s was the reason that last year, on 6 Things to Consider, we had lists for the most popular songs of the 1970s. Also see 70sMusicRevisited.com.
This year beginning this weekend, on the third weekend of the month 6ThingsToConsider.com will be listing of the top 6 movies of the year.
It’s not going to be a deeply researched cause, since as with almost any thing that called popular, it all depends on what you use as reference point. For movies, it’s usually their gross revenue, which since not all ticket prices are the same, makes for a questionable point.
Just as we did with the music, we will not be doing the years in order, but in a random order selected by me. The first year will be 1977 selected for a number of reasons.
Perhaps the primary reason for 1977 as the first year featured is that 1977 had the release of the most popular movie of the decade and one of the most popular movies of all time. A movie that is also my all time favorite.
