The R’s of Life

By | Feb 26, 2009

Seems that where ever you turn there’s an R looking at you. There are the three R’s that are the foundations of a basic skills within school’s primary education program. The three Rs “reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic” because each of the words have a strong R.

I have read reports today that there should be another R added. Recess. I sure can understand that don’t we all at time need to relax the brain and have some fun. Adding this would make it the four R’s of learning.

There’s also the 3 R’s that is being promoted as being good for the environment. These are Recycle, Reuse and Reduce. I agree with these three R’s and mentioned them in my ‘ways to save energy’ posting.

Looking back to the time of the Great Depression is something that many have been doing over the past months. Especially since there are many similarities now to then. President Franklin Roosevelt had his three R’s. Relief, Recovery, and Reform.

Reason, Respect, and Responsibility can in itself be a good way to run your life. Plan with a reason, respect those around you and be responsible for your actions.

Or we just act like a 16th century Pirates and just say, ‘Arg”.
